The party decided to amend their deal with Hans. Driselle used her new scar hex on him, and Tessa deceptively warned him the mark would allow them to monitor him from afar.
The party’s journey to Dok’shara district was briefly interrupted by an encounter with a pair of gargoyles. The aspiring artist and his mate had built a nest in an abandoned section of the ecumenopolis along the tramway rails.
When the party arrived in Dok’shara, they saw the district’s primary landmark, the Oracle of Dei. They witnessed a public execution in progress, and decided to intervene to rescue the accused apostate witch. Calliope was turned invisible by Talathel, and flew away with the witch in tow. The rest of a party created a distraction in the meantime, and escaped. Furio Anduin was the illuminator and executioner in attendance. He was not pleased.
The party was led to a tavern called the Ork’s Tusk. This tavern, normally hidden by a potent illusion, was full of adventurers who had no sympathy for the Orthodoxy. Despite having performed their hijinks incognito, they were somehow recognized by a tavern patron for their heroism earlier in the day. Drinks were bought for them for the duration of their visit. They got to know Wallace of the Woods, who they had rescued. Wallace is a witch who had posed as a druid, but was taken by the orthodoxy when he ‘got too careless’ with his magic. Despite being rescued, he selfishly seemed disinclined to help the party. They made contact with a member of the Excavator’s guild to deliver Redd’s message.
A halfling named Ruck led them along a hidden trail on Mount Sojen to the Excavator’s Guild headquarters. There, they met the urban ranger Sam Coburn, who is leader of the guild during Goram‘s absence. The party learned that Goram Glemox, Koburan wizard and leader of the Excavator’s guild, has been captured by the orthodoxy. He is scheduled to be executed in 7 days, at the end of the next Jun’dei eclipse.
